I’m Kat, a mum of one lively boy, and I’ve been a Yoga and Pilates Teacher for fifteen years. I’ve taught Pregnancy Yoga, Birth Preparation and Postnatal Mum & Baby Yoga since near the start of my yoga teaching career.

I specialised in these classes after my son was born in 2017, creating Mama2shape. I’ve taught hundreds of mums-to-be and new mums from my studio on the South Coast of the UK and now I am happy to share yoga with expectant mamas all over the world through Online Pregnancy Yoga classes!

I’ve lovingly created a Prenatal Yoga Studio of recorded classes which will teach you all you need to know about keeping your body strong and supple with good posture and great pelvic floor health throughout pregnancy and beyond.

Hip opening stretches are perfect to prepare for birth by improving your suppleness to allow freedom of movement in labour, and make upright birthing positions more accessible for your body.

We explore our basic hypnobirthing breath in more depth, adding powerful visualisations to the practice.

Strengthen your core safely during pregnancy.

We want certain muscles of the core to be soft, allowing your bump to grow, yet other core muscles to be toned and strong, so they can support your baby bump, your posture, and help you birth your baby.

Energetically your core is the sunshine in your body, the ‘powerhouse’ that keeps you going. This class will get you motivated!

Melt away back and shoulder tension.

Breathe deep, improve lung capacity (especially good when baby is invading your rib cage!) which helps give you more energy, relieve anxiety and lift your mood.

The energetic focus is the heart, tuning in to your loving, blossoming mothering heart with a baby bonding mediation and deep relaxation.

Neck, Shoulders & Upper Back | 55 mins

Soothe your achey shoulders and neck!

Energetically, the throat area is associated with sound, and our ability to communicate effectively.

As a mama-to-be and a new mum, it is essential to be able to communicate your needs, as well as effectively gain social support and discourse.

Find energetic balance in the neck and throat area.

Balance & Connection | 50 mins

A dreamy, uplifting class, focusing on balance, with a strongly grounding finish, to leave you feeling a supreme sense of peace along with safety and security in your body and mind.

Energetically we connect with the higher energy centres of the body, located in the head which form your attunement with others and your intuition.

An empowered birth is absolutely all about following your intuition, and so is the connection and bond you will form with your beautiful new baby!

Sun Class | 60 mins

Join the Mama2shape Mamas-to-be for this 60 minute class with a real community feel!

It is a toning, energising and uplifting Pregnancy Yoga class that will give your whole body a deep and delicious stretch!

Moon Class | 45 mins

Join me and my beautiful assistant who is pregnant with twins, for this calm and soothing Pregnancy Yoga class. Every area of your body will get a stretch, and you will learn how to safely soften and open your hip area. This is excellent in preparation for birth, and to help relieve tension and discomfort that can commonly occur around the hips, pelvis and very low back during pregnancy.

Sciatica & Hip Pain Relief | 29 mins

Sciatica, or tingling and pain down the backs of the legs is very common in pregnancy and is caused by tight hip and buttock muscles irritating the sciatic nerve.

The stretches in this class will relieve the symptoms of sciatica and are also a great stretch for buttocks, hips and lower back so can be enjoyed by anyone wanting to feel freedom in these areas!

Audio Track | Full Yogic Breathing in Pregnancy | 8 mins

This breathing technique relieves feelings of anxiety. It allows your body and mind to feel calm as well as energised and uplifted. It can be practised anytime, anywhere, and no-one has to know you are doing it.

Full yogic breathing also delivers much more oxygen to your cells than a normal breath, and it removes more carbon-dioxide, a waste product of our body. In this way, it helps nourish every cell of your body bringing healing and health.

I teach you how to practise full yogic breathing while pregnant and familiarise yourself with the sensations of this breath, so you can use it when you need it. It could be in labour, or at any other time of your life when you need to feel calm. Full yogic breathing during pregnancy is also a wonderful baby bonding visualisation practice.

Audio Track | Relaxing Ribbon Breath

This is a powerful breathing and visualisation technique for pain management. Breathe away sensations of the surges (contractions) and enter a hypnotic place of calm and serenity! This is the basic technique that you might use on it’s own, or with other variations that we cover in the course.

The relaxing ribbon breath can also be used for pain management at any other time of life! As well as using this breath in labour, I have used it for breastfeeding and even for removing unwanted thoughts and feelings.

The relaxing ribbon breath is a wonderful technique in your tool box for labour, birth and life!

Audio Track | Peaks and Valleys Visualisation | 10.5 minutes

We combine the Relaxing Ribbon Breath with a visualisation practice to allow you to breathe through the discomfort of the surges (contractions). This hypnobirthing technique is highly effective for natural, drug-free pain management and it also allows you maintain a sense of serenity and calm.

We combine the Relaxing Ribbon Breath with a visualisation practice to allow you to breathe through the discomfort of the surges (contractions). This hypnobirthing technique is highly effective for natural, drug-free pain management and it also allows you maintain a sense of serenity and calm.

Audio Track | Ujaii Breath | 8.5 mins

This breath practice is excellent for invoking a sense of inner strength. It is intensely soothing and calming. It can be used anytime, anywhere and is just as useful for giving you extra strength in your yoga practise as giving you strength and vitality during labour!
