Hello! I’m Kat
I am Mama to two wild things and have been through my fair share of life challenges!
Yoga has been my saviour through all of it!
I discovered yoga as a teenager when my mum bought me a book about yoga, telling me I should look after my back because I am tall. All the yoga practices in the book resonated with me, and I spent hours doing yoga up in my room.
A creative art lover, I chose to move to London and study a degree in Illustration which came with its own stresses! Yoga classes at my local gym soothed and grounded me, and were the highlight of my week in the third year. Likewise, when traveling after university in New Zealand and Australia, I found solace and inspiration in yoga and Pilates classes at the local gym. I looked at the class instructor and decided I wanted to be like her. I knew yoga teaching was my destined career!
I completed my Yoga Teacher training in Byron Bay, Australia while still travelling. I felt ready to teach straight away, and upon returning to the UK the following year, I launched my Yoga business and continued my studies…
I hold the following relevant qualifications
- ISHTA System Yoga Teacher Training, Rachel Zinman, Byron Bay, Australia, 2006
- ISHTA System Advanced Adjustments, Rachel Zinman, Byron Bay, Australia, 2007
- Teaching Yoga to Children, Yoga Campus, London, UK, 2008
- Teaching Pregnancy Yoga, Yoga Campus, London, UK, 2008
- Pilates, FutureFit Training, Southampton, UK, 2010
- Teaching Postnatal, Baby and Family Yoga, Yoga Campus, London, UK, 2011
- Post Graduate Certificate of Education, University of Brighton, Brighton, UK, 2016
My creative mind is always whirring, and I’m known for starting a lot of projects, not all of which get finished.. let’s just say they are a slow burn!
In 2020, I started a YouTube channel which grows slowly and steadily, and is a wonderful creative outlet for me, as I create yoga sequences of various lengths to meet a range of needs. Filming and editing the videos and sharing them with the world is a delightfully satisfying experience. You can check out my YouTube channel here.
I also have an Online Studio which contains my yoga, Pilates, Yogalates, Prenatal Yoga and Postnatal Yoga class videos without adverts, plus exclusive material that is not available on YouTube. You can become a member of my Online Studio here.
Other activities I enjoy are Pole Fitness, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and getting in touch with nature and the seasons. Seasonal nature acts as an inspiration for my portrait photography, Wild Frost Photography, another one of my creative outlets where I enjoy creating newborn, maternity and family portraits for families in Hampshire and surrounding counties.
I aim to create a non-judgemental, friendly, playful and inclusive atmosphere in my classes as these qualities are important to me.
I hope to meet you in person soon!
